Our sustainability work
Svalbard Auto has implemented measures for continuous improvement in sustainability over several years, with a particular focus on the environment, people and corporate governance. We work systematically with our parent company, LNS Spitsbergen, and we follow the LNS Group’s ethical guidelines. In the summer of 2024, LNSS and its subsidiaries published our first joined annual report, which also includes sustainability reporting. You can read the report and our ethical guidelines here:
Some of our sustainability initiatives are:
– Sole dealer of electric cars and active contributor to the electrification of the car fleet in Longyearbyen
– Svalbard Auto was the first to establish charging stations in Longyearbyen and has plans to expand this offer.
– Sorting and recycling of all waste
– Tire return via Ragn-Sells, through an agreement with Longyearbyen Local Council
– All special waste is handled correctly via LNSS and Perpetuum and we have full traceability of this waste
– HSE/KS system provided by the market leader BUS Kvalitet
– Sponsor and contributor to local events, such as the Svalbard Blues Festival, Longyearbyen Pride, etc.
– Regular participation in local social events together with employees of the other LNS companies, such as TV-aksjonstafetten and Ta Sjansen
